Engage in the effective interrogation of computerised (AFIS) fingerprint databases (Currently Livescan and the tenprint management system within Ident 1). Perform the initial analysis, comparison, and evaluation of tenprint finger and palm prints. Collation and processing of Tenprint Submission – Electronic and hard copies. To ensure quality standards are satisfied and provide accurate analysis and comparisons of submissions made to the fingerprint bureau. The Fingerprint Technician will conduct an analysis, comparison and evaluation of tenprint finger and palm prints in order to confirm the identity of known offenders and to search Person of Interest, with the tenprint management system within Ident1, to either establish identity with a previous criminal record or to instigate a new record. The successful candidates will provide a professional, efficient and effective fingerprint examination provision to the Metropolitan Police Service and external agencies.
